Student Podcast Contest

Looking for an opportunity to use technology to engage and educate students on real world science issues? Encourage students to participate in the Nutrients for Life Podcast Contest as a supplement to the Nourishing the Planet in the 21st Century curriculum module.

With podcasts, blogs, online social networks and Web sites taking social and educational settings by storm, the Nutrients for Life Foundation is kicking it up a notch to help teachers capture the modern student's attention. The Foundation invites students in grades 5-12 to enter a podcast contest sharing fun lessons about soil and plant science.

The video or audio podcast should showcase concepts learned in the Nourishing the Planet in the 21st Century curriculum. The top five podcasts will be posted online for viewers to vote on. Winners each semester will receive a video iPod. The call for Spring 2008 entries begins March 12 and the deadline is Friday, May 2 at 5 p.m. Check back for more information and to vote on the Spring winners.
